The life of a creative artist...
What a pleasure it is to bring you the work of Jean Haines today, including her advice for using watercolor brushes. Her paintings can be described as atmospheric; the word ephemeral also comes to my mind when I view them. Somehow she paints the soul of her subjects, and they remind me how much of a blur life is when we look back. Someone I look up to once said that you might forget the things that a person says to you, but you'll always remember the way they made you feel. Jean's paintings do this--they bring to mind fleeting moments and even sounds, but the details no longer matter.
You just need to keep the going get on by drawing , painting and so on, Alex Powers and I are kindred spirits. The muses for his figure drawing and painting are actually a mish-mash of his own snapshots, magazine photographs, and newspaper tear outs, and even television images that he draws. But Powers outpaces my "coupon" clipping in terms of creativity by also pulling from unusual sources, such as X-ray images of luggage from airport security monitors.

As a creative artist myself am always in the burden at all times to create and also affect my immediate environment with my work, but it's sad that the environs here in Africa gives little or no encouragement to that but I'have derided all that and have made up my mind to keep my head straight and my game tight.
